Bodega Navarro Lopez, a family-run winery established by Don Juan Megía Sánchez in 1904. Located in Spain's central plateau, south-east of Madrid, Valdepeñas is arguably Spain's oldest wine region and literally means "Valley of Rocks". Navarro López sources fruit from his own 173 hectares of vineyards located where the Jabalón River meanders through hills bordering with stony clay-lime soils at 650-820 metres in an extreme continental climate with cold winters and hot, dry summers where they produce exceptional intensity of fruit and complexity. Grapes are hand harvested with extended maceration to produce a vibrant syrah with intense fruit, richness of flavour and plump, lush tannins
